Projects & Major Expenses
Catio
A catio is an enclosed patio where cats can enjoy the outdoors safely without the access to roam and be in danger. Our estimate for a catio is $1,000 - $2,000.

Sanctuary Repairs
Our sanctuary is not running as efficiently and sustainably as possible. We currently have a list of about $5,000 of needed repairs. We have been getting by without, but in order to maintain the building long term we will need to tackle these changes in the next year.

Annual Sanctuary Vetting Day
Every year, our sanctuary cats get a vet visit. Because they are feral and unsocialized, they hide any issues very well and it is impossible to know if there are anything wrong because they freeze and hide when people come around. That makes this day extra important because we want to make sure all animals in our care are appropriately cared for. This day alone costs $10,000+, which includes exams, update vaccines so we can have a kennel license, bloodwork, urinalysis, and as needed dental work, laser treatments, etc.

Debt
When we started as a sanctuary, we were completely unprepared. We were not set up to do so, but as we were working on a case and a caretaker died leaving us with 50 cats with health issues unexpectedly, it was quite overwhelming. There wasn't a choice but to make sure we figured out how to jumpstart a sanctuary so all the cats had vet care and a safe landing. Unfortunately since it was unexpected and we weren't financially prepared, we took on $10,000+ of unexpected debt. We are now working to pay off the remaining $6,000.
